My name is Zaydee Sanchez, and I am a Mexican-American visual journalist, documentary photographer, and writer. I am originally from Tulare, California, an agricultural town in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, which inspires much of my personal work. With a focus on labor workers, the environment, and migration across the U.S., Mexico, and Central America, I gravitate towards long-form stories, immersing myself in communities and topics to provide comprehensive narratives. Through storytelling, I aim to inform, connect, heal, and showcase the resilience of humanity.
I proudly serve on the NAHJ’s Visual Task Force board and I am a member of Authority Collective, Women Photograph, Diversify Photo, and NPPA.
