Fort Worth Star-Telegram

Visuals Editor

Amanda McCoy is the visuals editor and chief photographer at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Before stepping into an editor role, she worked as a photojournalist and videographer for local newsrooms across the South. She began her career in Mississippi at the Biloxi Sun Herald, where she documented major regional stories, including the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the BP oil spill, LGBTQ visibility, and ongoing environmental issues along the Gulf Coast. In 2019, McCoy joined the Star-Telegram in Texas, where her visual storytelling around the COVID-19 pandemic—particularly on housing instability and community isolation—earned multiple regional Emmy nominations.
