Mackenzie Stevenson
Independent
Photographer/Photo Editor

I am a recent RIT graduate, wedding photographer, and freelance visual storyteller based in Upstate New York. I work throughout the Rochester, Syracuse, and Finger Lakes regions, capturing real moments and meaningful connections through my lens.
My senior capstone project focused on the Erie Canal and the people whose lives are intertwined with it today. That work evolved into a published photo book featuring portraits, personal stories, and VanDyke brown prints made using actual canal water. The book will soon be available in a few local canal town museums, and I’ll be sharing both the prints and the book at the 2025 World Canal Conference in Buffalo.
While I love photographing weddings and documentary projects, my long-term goal is to pursue photo editing as a full-time career. I’m passionate about visual storytelling in all forms and take pride in helping images come to life—whether behind the camera or at the editing desk.
