Renée Deemer

Renée Deemer is an independent visual storyteller based in central New York, originally from Louisville, Kentucky.

She also currently works with Menuez Pictures on photo book editing, digital portfolio curation, and video editing, and was previously Lead Visuals Editor for The NewsHouse at Syracuse University.

Active in education and outreach, Renée has led storytelling workshops for people of all ages and has taught visual project development and multimedia storytelling as an instructional associate at Syracuse University. Most recently, she launched Northside Stories, a photography program for youth in Syracuse’s Northside neighborhood.

A Master of Science candidate in Photography, Multimedia, and Design at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, she holds a B.A. in Photojournalism from Western Kentucky University and studied at the Danish School of Media and Journalism in Aarhus.
