I’m Kate Magsaysay, a photographer, Navy veteran, and emerging visual storyteller currently developing work in nature, adventure, and documentary film. I'm studying at Rochester Institute of Technology, where I’m building my skills in photojournalism and multimedia storytelling. My work was featured in the Honors Show at RIT and has appeared online as well as in editorial and athletic contexts, including coverage of the Special Olympics.

My path to photography wasn’t traditional. I spent six years in Navy intelligence doing language work and analysis, working both stateside and overseas. Before that, I worked as a professional violinist for three years, performing solo, playing with bands, and managing my own freelance career.

When I’m not behind the camera, you can usually find me biking, hiking, kayaking, or climbing, planning my next scuba diving trip. I also love caring for my growing collection of plants.
