Eric Shelton is a visual journalist based in Mississippi. He focuses on clear storytelling through photography and editing. His work shows real conditions and helps audiences understand their communities.
Shelton earned a Bachelor of Arts in photojournalism from the University of Southern Mississippi. There, he studied the work of Gordon Parks and began shaping his approach to reporting. He treats the camera as a tool for truth and connection.
He has worked as a photojournalist, photo editor, and multimedia journalist across Mississippi and Texas. He now works at Mississippi Today, where he collaborates with reporters and produces photo essays across the state.
His work centers on people and the human condition. He covers communities with care, holds public institutions to account, and documents moments that shape the public record.
