Joshua Bessex

Joshua Bessex went to college with dreams of becoming a doctor, but an ad in the college newspaper offering a job ($20 per assignment!) changed that. That beer-money job taking pictures for The Daily of the University of Washington turned into a 15-year career that has taken him from one side of the country to the other.

He’s currently a staff photojournalist at The Buffalo News covering the beautiful, friendly and tough Western New York community where folding tables are tackled for sport, there is a bar and a church on every corner and “Go Bills” is as common a greeting as “Hello.” He loves his job, but loves the people here even more.
