Daniel Lyon

Dan Lyon is an independent photographer and the photo editor for Chalkbeat. Before finding his passion for photography and visual storytelling, he served in the United States Army for over eight years. He has worked as a multimedia intern for the Cortland Standard, and as a photo editing intern and freelance photographer for The Wall Street Journal. Dan received a B.S. in photojournalism from Syracuse University and currently resides in Syracuse, N.Y. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his partner Emily and their two dogs.
