Kaitlyn Dolan

Photographer, Science Magazine, AAAS

Kaitlyn Dolan is a photo editor at Science Magazine where she manages the photographic content for Science’s five sister journals, edits for online and print, and assigns photographers for feature and cover stories. She also does freelance editing, video, and still work focusing on both sports and the environment. Her work has been published internationally and featured at film festivals. Selected clients include Smithsonian Institution, The Washington Post, and Bienestar.


She is a member of the National Press Photographers Association, Women Photojournalists of Washington, and HerChespeake. She has previously been a judge for NPPA’s quarterly editing contest and a portfolio reviewer for American Photographic Artists DC Chapter.


Before joining Science, Kaitlyn worked at Education Week as a photo editor and interned with the Chesapeake Bay Program as a multimedia specialist and AARP as a photo editor. Kaitlyn graduated from RIT after studying in the photojournalism program and earning a minor in sociology.


Outside of photojournalism, Kaitlyn spends her time teaching yoga, biking around D.C., reading, and trying new restaurants with friends. Kaitlyn can be found on Instagram @kaitlyndolanphoto.
